Frederick, MD [May 9, 2025] — The Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club made a splash at the 2025 Frederick Running Festival Half Marathon, the sixth race in the club’s Grand Prix series and a staple event in the local running community.

Nearly 100 club members participated in running the 13.1 mile course, many of whom trained  as part of the club’s Half Marathon Training Group.

The energy and enthusiasm from the Steeplechasers was evident throughout the entire event, with many runners achieving personal records, top age group finishes, and overall race placements. “It’s a hard course, but I was very happy that I had all of the Steeps [with me],” Audrey Fisher said after crossing the finish line. “Everybody was really supportive and we did it!”

Although the race featured a challenging new course layout, the Steeplechasers rose to the occasion. Club member Daveen Bavari, 24, captured the second place overall male spot with an outstanding time of 1:14:31.76, followed closely by Daniel Lemen, 28, who claimed third overall male with a time of 1:16:05.66. On the women’s side, Erin Snyder, 27, placed third overall female with a time of 1:25:32.24.

“[The race] was a new course—I kinda like it better,” Paul Lively, one of the club’s half marathon training coaches, said. “Let’s keep it going. Let’s keep crushing goals. PR every day, let’s go!”
